Arsenal's target has been told he needs to improve off the field in order to match the talent of Juventus' Paulo Dybala
AC Milan great Arrigo Sacchi has told Inter captain Mauro Icardi that he has to "improve as a man" in order to succeed at the highest level.
The two-time European Cup winning coach gave his verdict on the latest transfer dramas in Serie A, with Gonzalo Higuain having joined Juventus for €90million and Napoli chasing Icardi as they attempt to replace his compatriot.
Sacchi, 70, also revealed he had previously advised Silvio Berlusconi to bring Maurizio Sarri and Paulo Dybala to Milan, but the duo ended up joining Napoli and Juve respectively.
"I spoke to Silvio Berlusconi two years ago - I told him to get Maurizio Sarri when he was Empoli coach and also Dybala as a player, who was then at Palermo," Sacchi told La Nacion.
"Dybala is a phenomenon, he's a great player and a great guy. I always look at the man first.
"Dybala is fantastic and I'm sure he's going to improve a lot. Icardi as a man is less reliable than Dybala. If he improves as a man he will grow because he also has a lot of talent."
He added: "When I signed Frank Rijkaard I sent a man I trusted to Zaragoza for 20 days to watch how he trained, what he ate, how he behaved with rivals and team-mates. When I was wrong, I was wrong about the man and not about the footballer.
"Gonzalo Higuain had an incredible, incredible season and therefore he costs a lot. Do you know the world of football? It's run on emotions and he gives great emotions."
Sacchi, though, is concerned about the growing trend of massive transfer fees in the modern game.
He added: "Now, the money being spent is a lot - I have fear looking at the future because football could break with excessive leadership or business."
'A mix of Kaka and Ronaldo' - Pjaca's agent talks up new Juve signing
The pressure is on new the Old Lady's new signing after his agent compared the youngster with the world's best footballers
Marko Pjaca's agent says the Juventus winger embodies the combined qualities of Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka.
The Serie A champions signed Pjaca from Dinamo Zagreb for €23million this month following an impressive showing for Croatia at Euro 2016.
But rather than easing the pressure on the 21-year-old's shoulders, agent Marko Naletilic has been heaping lofty praise on his client to raise expectations.
"Comparisons are always difficult, but Marko I see it as a mix of Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo," he told Tuttosport.
"Pjaca is slower than Cristiano Ronaldo, but is more unpredictable. Marko is an artist [and] also recalls the genius of [Dejan] Savicevic."
Naletilic claims Pjaca had a wealth of suitors to choose from, but opted for Juve as he "understood the power and ambition" of the club.
During his two-year-stay at Dinamo, Pjaca won the league title and Croatian Football Cup in the 2014-15 season.
Juventus have been busy during the transfer window, with the likes of Gonzalo Higuain, Miralem Pjanic, Medhi Benatia and Dani Alves all signing for Massimiliano Allegri's men.
Vardy: Rejecting Arsenal was an 'easy' decision
The striker insists he never came close to joining the Gunners because he feels there is unfinished business at Leicester City, while he also hopes Riyad Mahrez stays at the club
Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has stressed that rejecting a move to Arsenal was an “easy” decision for him, insisting a transfer was never on the cards.
The England international was believed to be close to joining Arsenal after they triggered his release clause, but he eventually signed a new contract with Leicester instead.
The 29-year-old has now reflected on his decision to stay put and is adamant staying at the Premier League champions was an easy call to make in the end.
"[Turning down Arsenal] wasn't that big when I think about it. It was quite easy and this is where I want to be," Vardy told Sky Sports.
"I was away with England so [a move to Arsenal wasn't close]. No [I didn't speak to them.]
"There's a lot of unfinished business here. I feel that the club is only going one way and that is forward, that's why I want to be a part of it."
Vardy also hopes Riyad Mahrez, who has been strongly linked with a move away this summer, follows in his footsteps and stays put at the King Power Stadium.
"I think everyone in the squad would want him here, playing with us," Vardy added.
"But that's nothing to do with us and it's down to Riyad and the club to sort.”
'Mahrez bid incoming!' - Arsenal fans overjoyed as Wenger attends Leicester clash
The Gunners boss was pictured at the StubHub Center as the Foxes locked horns with Paris Saint-Germain in pre-season, sending supporters into a frenzy over social media
ysteria has gripped Arsenal supporters across social media after Arsene Wenger was pictured attending Leicester City's clash against Paris Saint-Germain in the International Champions Cup.

Wenger was spotted alongside club coach Steve Bould as speculation mounted the Gunners boss was on a scouting mission of Leicester star Riyad Mahrez, who has been strongly linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal face Premier League champions Leicester in their second game of the new Premier League season and therefore Wenger was most likely running the rule over the Foxes.

However, that hasn't stopped Arsenal fans getting ahead of themselves as they hold out for more new arrivals in north London...
Bailly: I snubbed Man City in favour of Man Utd move
The defender has revealed he turn down the Citizens' advances to instead join the Red Devils from Villarreal this summer because he wanted to work with Jose Mourinho
Eric Bailly claims he snubbed Manchester City in favour of a move to Manchester United because he wanted to work with Jose Mourinho.
Bailly became Mourinho's first signing as United boss when he moved to Old Trafford from Villarreal in a £30m deal in June.
However, the defender has since revealed City boss Pep Guardiola's assistant approached him over a potential transfer to the Etihad Stadium.
Bailly says Ivory Coast team-mate Yaya Toure also tried to convince him to join City but instead chose to follow other compatriot Didier Drogba's advice and sign for United.
"I signed for United because I like Mourinho, as simple as that," Bailly told The Sun. "I wanted to play for someone who works very hard.
"I didn't speak to Pep Guardiola, but the 'second' manager called me.
"Mourinho called me as well and he told me to come and play for him. I prefer Mourinho, in part because of Didier Drogba, who worked with him. Didier is a friend and he told me Jose did a lot for him.
"Yaya [Toure] also called me and wanted me to come to City, but once Jose spoke to me and Didier gave me advice, I knew straight away I wanted to play for him."

Frank Lampard could not hide his delight after becoming the first New York City player to score a hat trick in MLS.
Lampard etched his name into the history books after scoring three goals in New York City FC's 5-1 rout of the Colorado Rapids on Saturday.
It has been a long and hard road for Lampard in New York, battling fitness and injury concerns, while attempting to win over fans in the Big Apple.
But the 38-year-old former England international seems to have finally gained the approval of fans after improving his tally to eight goals in eight games.
"Really happy, I didn't realize that [record of becoming the first New York City player to score a hat-trick]," Lampard said. "I know is very short history but it's a great accolade for me as a person.
"I'm very happy and when I'm playing well, feeling good, obviously I can score goals, I've managed to do since I've been fit."
He added: "To the three goals, personally I feel great but for the team more importantly, twice now in recent weeks we lost a game and come straight back the next week and won. And that's what team who wants to stay on top of the table must do."
Of captaining the team in the absence of regular skipper David Villa, Lampard said: "I mean I'm pleased. Listen David's our captain and does a very good job, not just on the pitch where he scores a lot of goals and leads us from the front but off the pitch.
"I think is important for all the players to show their leadership and been around a long time playing for a long time with great captains and as captain myself at times I tried to use the experience to help today and I think everyone perform well today."
The Belgium international is said to be interested in a move back to Stamford Bridge and the Blues are preparing a giant offer to secure his services from Everton
Chelsea are ready to make a £60 million offer to lure Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge from Everton, according to The Daily Mail.
The 23-year-old, who netted 18 goals in 37 Premier League games for the Toffees last season, is said to be interested in a return to the Blues.
Antonio Conte is concerned Chelsea's striking options will be depleted as Atletico Madrid persist with their interest in Diego Costa, and has turned his attention to the Belgium international.
With Gonzalo Higuain joining Juventus from Napoli and having a bid for Alvaro Morata rejected, Chelsea are willing to pay £60m for the player they signed from Anderlecht in 2011 - double the fee they received for him two years ago.
The Spain international has been linked with a return to Atletico Madrid and, after missing out on Chelsea's defeat to Real Madrid on Saturday, may be set for the exit
Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte admitted he is unsure if striker Diego Costa will still be at the Premier League club when the transfer window closes.
Costa has been heavily linked with a return to Atletico Madrid, which has since signed Kevin Gameiro from Sevilla.
The 27-year-old Spain international's future remains uncertain after sitting out Saturday's 3-2 loss to Real Madrid in the International Champions Cup in Michigan.
Asked about Costa following the pre-season defeat in front of 105,000 fans, Conte told reporters: "Today Costa is Chelsea's player.
"He didn't play because he was injured. If I see him improving in training he might play in the other games."
Pressed on Costa's future, Conte said: "This is a situation of the transfer market. I speak for today and today he is Chelsea's player.
"Tomorrow if you ask if Costa remains with us, I don't know.
"All 29 players are Chelsea's. After this period, I speak very clear with my club and there are players who will stay and the others will leave. This is football," Conte added when asked about Oscar's future.
"I'm very happy with these players. Their commitment and attitude is very good.
"But after this period, I take the decision with the club."
Zlatan Ibrahimovic hopes Paul Pogba completes his much discussed move to Manchester United, stating the midfielder's arrival will make the club "even more interesting".
Goal understands Manchester United is set to seal a 110 million euro ($123M) deal for the midfielder, with the ongoing transfer saga expected to come to an end in the near future.
Despite the lack of Champions League football awaiting Jose Mourinho's men in 2016-17, Ibrahimovic is impressed with the work the club is making and believes Pogba's signing would boost the team.
"We have something big going on," Ibrahimovic told Swedish television station Kanal 5 . "It looks very interesting.
"Let's see if Pogba will also [come], then it will be even more interesting."
Ibrahimovic scored his first United goal just four minutes into his debut in Saturday's 5-2 friendly win over Galatasaray in Gothenburg.
The Swede netted an acrobatic effort and said he was delighted to get his first goal on home soil.
"It felt good. Very good. The first half was so-so but the second was good," the 34-year-old said. "It was my first game and right now it's important to build up my physique and stamina.
"[Scoring on Swedish soil] felt even better. It was fantastic. We had great support and this is my country. I can't fail in my country."
The attacker started in his side's win over Chelsea and, despite being linked to Premier League clubs, the coach insists he will stay put this season
Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has no intention of allowing Alvaro Morata to leave the European champions amid reported interest from the Premier League.
Morata is back in the Spanish capital after Madrid activated its 30 million euro ($33.5M) buy-back option to lure the 23-year-old back from Juventus.
Despite returning to the Santiago Bernabeu, Morata has been linked with a subsequent transfer to Chelsea.
Zidane, however, intends to keep hold of the Spain international, who started and played 64 minutes in Madrid's 3-2 win over Chelsea in Saturday's International Champions Cup clash.
"Morata is a Madrid player," Zidane told reporters. 'We are delighted to have him back, back to his original home.
"He will remain a Madrid player."
While Morata appears set to stay, countryman Jese is closing in on a move to French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
After PSG coach Unai Emery confirmed his interest in the 23-year-old forward, who did not feature against Chelsea, Zidane added: "Jese has had discussions within the club. I don't really know more than that but that's why he didn't play.
"He has been speaking with PSG but is nothing official yet."
Zidane was also asked about Chelsea star Eden Hazard, who scored a late double in Michigan.
Hazard has often been linked with Madrid, but Zidane said: "There are rumors about tons of players potentially linked with this club.
"He is a very, very good player. Obviously all clubs want the best players but he is a Chelsea player."

The Belgium international's two goals could not rescue the result for Antonio Conte's men, who were three goals down at half-time in their ICC clash
A Marcelo double and a stunning strike from Mariano Diaz helped Real Madrid to a 3-2 victory over Chelsea in the International Champions Cup as Eden Hazard's late brace proved in vain.
European Champions Madrid were beaten 3-1 by Paris Saint-Germain on Thursday, but it appeared as though the Liga giants were in store for a comfortable win in front of a bumper crowd of 105,826 at the Michigan Stadium.
Full-back Marcelo put Zinedine Zidane's men in command with an unlikely brace, first seeing a long-range effort deflect in before adding a second with a cool finish.
The best was to come from Mariano, though, who let fly with a fierce 25-yard strike that left Asmir Begovic helpless, Madrid three goals to the good after 37 minutes.
However, Chelsea threatened a late comeback when impressive substitute Hazard, much criticised for falling well below his lofty standards last term, scored twice in the last 10 minutes.
It proved too little too late and new Chelsea coach Antonio Conte, a former team-mate of Zidane at Juventus, has just over a fortnight until their Premier League opener against West Ham and he will be keen to see a swift defensive improvement.
Zidane himself will want to see Madrid shore up at the back, but they showed plenty of positive signs going forward as they build towards the new Liga season.
Madrid went ahead in the 19th minute when Marcelo tried his luck with his weaker right foot and a deflection off Oscar left Begovic wrong footed.
The Brazil full-back had a look of disbelief when he scored again seven minutes later, coolly slotting past Begovic after a clever give and go with Marco Asensio.
There was time for another before half-time, though, and Mariano will certainly have caught Zidane's eye after receiving a pass from Marcelo and taking a touch before aiming a superb, swerving shot into the top-left corner.
Half-time substitute Michy Batshuayi showed great footwork to weave into the Madrid box and was perhaps unlucky not to get a penalty after being clattered by Nacho.
Hazard reignited Chelsea's chances with 10 minutes remaining by racing onto a ball over the top and rounding Ruben Yanez to slot into the unguarded goal.
And the attacking midfielder scored a similar goal in injury time, this time collecting Batshuayi's throughball before again taking it past Yanez to score, but Madrid held out for the win.
Mourinho 'desperately' wanted Embolo at Man Utd - Schalke chief
The Bundesliga outfit's sporting director Christian Heidel claims the club pipped the Red Devils to the highly rated striker when they signed him from Basel in June
Schalke sporting director Christian Heidel has claimed Jose Mourinho was “desperate” to lure Breel Embolo to Manchester United before he joined the Bundesliga outfit this summer.
Embolo enhanced his growing reputation after scoring nine goals to help Basel claim the Swiss league title and was subsequently linked with a switch to United.
However, the highly rated forward ended up moving to Schalke in June on the back of turning out for Switzerland at Euro 2016.
And Heidel has since revealed that Mourinho had identified Embolo as a key target prior to him deciding to move to the Veltins Arena.
"There are a number of reasons why we signed Embolo," Heidel told the official Bundesliga website.
"First and foremost there are sporting reasons. It's nothing new that he is a great player. There is a reason why Mourinho desperately wanted to sign him for Manchester United.
"But we also see him as a player the Schalke fans can identify with, a bit like Benedikt Howedes, Leroy Sane and someone like Ralf Fahrmann.
"Embolo had a similar role at Basel, where 80 per cent of the shirts they sold had his name on it. He is very open, is always smiling and makes it easy for people to like him.
"When we realised there was a possibility that we could miss out on signing him due to other clubs' interest, we had to move fast.
"President Clemens Tonnies happily made his plane available. We flew out to Montpellier at 1300 CET and returned five hours later. We had wrapped up the deal in that short period."

Pogba arrival would boost Rooney - Yorke
Wayne Rooney would be a key beneficiary of Paul Pogba's expected move to Manchester United, according to Dwight Yorke.
Goal understands Pogba is on the brink of completing a world-record switch back to the club he left four years ago as Jose Mourinho seeks to lead United back into Premier League title contention.
And Yorke, a treble winner during a four-year spell at Old Trafford, believes captain Rooney would stand to gain the most from Pogba's arrival.
"Hopefully, with the acquisition of Pogba coming into the team, he [Rooney] doesn't have to worry about coming looking for the ball. The ball will finally come to him," Yorke told Sport360.
"I can see why Mourinho said 'listen, he's going to be playing up top', because that's where Rooney is good. That's a specialist position.
"When you play in that position all the time, your mindset is like that. He doesn't have to go looking for the ball now. I think that's part of Mourinho's plan."
Rooney has been tried in a central midfield position for club and country, but Mourinho has underlined his intention to play him higher up the pitch.
The Swede is preparing for his maiden appearance for his new team against Galatasaray in Gothenburg and his new coach has praised the way he has settled in to his new team
Zlatan Ibrahimovic's arrival has provided the whole Manchester United squad with a huge pre-season boost, according to manager Jose Mourinho.
The Swede is set to make his debut in Saturday's friendly against Galatasaray in Gothenburg, with Mourinho lauding the 34-year-old's ability to inspire those around him.
"With Zlatan you may see someone with a big ego, big self-esteem, but it is in a positive way," the Portuguese told MUTV. "When he is with the group, he is humble and friendly to everyone – integration is good.
"Zlatan is a fantastic player and, immediately in training, we could feel what I call 'functional empathy' – people looking to him, him looking to connect with other players.
"He is an amazing link player, an amazing player. He could be anything on the pitch, not just a goalscorer."
Goalkeeper David de Gea has also been impressed by Ibrahimovic, who enjoyed the most prolific spell of his career during four trophy-laden years at Paris Saint-Germain before moving to Old Trafford this month.
"It's really good to have Zlatan already here training with the team," said the Spaniard. "You can see he's a top player, he's massive, very big, with a lot of quality and of course he is a top striker.
"I think he will settle in very quickly. You can look and it seems like he has been playing here many years already and the same with the other guys we've signed [Eric Bailly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan].
"They are playing really well, their training has been top and I think that we have signed really good players."

OFFICIAL: Ben Yedder completes Sevilla move
The 25-year-old has followed Luciano Vietto in signing for Jorge Sampaoli's side who have seen striker Kevin Gameiro leave for Atletico Madrid
Sevilla have completed the signing of Toulouse striker Hissam Ben Yedder, with the striker having agreed a five-year deal with the Europa League champions.
He becomes their second signing in a matter of hours following Luciano Vietto's arrival on loan as Jorge Sampaoli looks to replace Kevin Gameiro, who has joined Atletico Madrid.
Ben Yedder will undergo a medical with the Liga outfit on Sunday evening before signing his contract early next week.
The 25-year-old joined Toulouse from Alfortville in 2010 and has since developed into an important first-team member at the Ligue 1 side.
He scored 17 goals in 35 Ligue 1 appearances last term and will now be looking to make a name for himself in La Liga.
The former France Under-21 international becomes Sevilla's eighth signing of the close season after the previous capture of Vietto, Ganso, Franco Vazquez, Joaquin Correa, Matias Kranevitter, Pablo Sarabia and Hiroshi Kiyotake.

The German defender is set to miss the start of the new season with a knee injury but has jokingly vowed to come back and solve Arsene Wenger's goalscorer issues
Arsenal fans have spent the summer despairing over the club's search for a new striker, with moves for Jamie Vardy, Alvaro Morata and Alexandre Lacazette failing to come to fruition.

Arsene Wenger has insisted he is still on the lookout for an experienced goalscorer, but defender Per Mertesacker may have come up with the perfect solution - himself!

The former Germany international has been sidelined with a knee injury that will rule him out for a number of months, but that has not stopped him from having a joke with Gunners supporters.
He posted a picture of himself on crutches on Twitter alongside the caption: "Thanks for all the get well soon messages. Doc said he built in a 20 goals guarantee. No striker rumours anymore."

Depending on what happens during the remainder of the transfer window, the new club captain may well have to keep his promise if Arsenal are to challenge for silverware this term.
The Argentine forward has moved to Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan from Atletico Madrid on a temporary deal which the Europa League holders can make permanent next summer
Atletico Madrid forward Luciano Vietto has joined Sevilla on a season-long loan, with the Europa League champions having the option to conclude a permanent deal next summer.
Vietto only joined Atletico last summer from Villarreal but struggled to make an impact with the Colchoneros in 2015/16, scoring just three goals in 28 appearances in all competitions.

And the 22-year-old, who had already trained with his new team-mates at their pre-season base in Germany prior to the move being completed, has now joined Sevilla on a temporary basis to get his career back on track.
Goal reported earlier this month thatBarcelona were keen to sign Vietto but the striker opted to join Sevilla instead in his pursuit of regular first-team football.
Kevin Gameiro - who scored 29 goals in all competitions last term including eight in the Europa League as Sevilla lifted the trophy for a third season in a row - has gone the other way, joining Atletico permanently.

Vietto is new Sevilla boss Jorge Sampaoli's seventh summer signing ahead of the new campaign after the earlier arrivals of Franco Vazquez, Joaquin Correa, Ganso, Hiroshi Kiyotake and Pablo Sarabia.
Matias Kranevitter also joined Sevilla this summer on a season-long loan from Atletico after similarly falling down the pecking order at the Vicente Calderon.
The manager is preparing his team for a run at another Bundesliga title but is also using the International Champions Cup to get acclimated with others around the club
Carlo Ancelotti has been through this before. He's come into a new club, a big club with a long tradition of success, and he's largely been able to continue that tradition, sometimes even writing new chapters in the storied history of the clubs. So with his Bayern Munich team's preseason preparation in full swing, and a match with Inter on Saturday, Ancelotti has his eyes trained on both the big picture and the little details.
The manager said after his team's penalty shootout defeat to AC Milan in their International Champions Cup opener that fitness and conditioining is the most important thing on the field, especially because so many of his players remain in Europe on holiday after Euro 2016. But also important to the Italian tactician is building relationships with not just his players but with everyone involved with the Bavarians.
"I think as a manager the relationship with a player is the most important part but also the people that are working with you, for you, in the club. Not only the players.," Ancelotti said. "The key of success at one club is to build a strong relationship with the club, with the players, with the staff and also with the supporters. It will be fantastic."
Ancelotti has made a strong first impression, with defender David Alaba telling Goal the Italian  is "a really cool guy." Centre-back Holger Badstuber described the manager as "calm," while forward Julian Green said he's "the perfect coach" to lead the Bundesliga champions.
"He’s really friendly, a top-class manager," midfielder Arturo Vidal told Goal   on Friday. "It’s a privilege to have him here as a manager, and we’re going to try to take advantage of that and do things well so we can win everything."
Part of the reason the coach has won over his players is his track record for success, but the other is Ancelotti's style of valuing face time and conversation with his charges. The pre-season tour, which provides more downtime than the typical European season with its rigid schedule that brings weekly matches and frequent midweek games, has been the perfect medium for Ancelotti to get to know the Bayern players and the people around the team.
"This is a good time for this because we have more time to spend together," he said. "Yesterday, we went to a beautiful steakhouse and had fun for two hours. Apart from the relationship with the players, it’s important to have time to build these relationships. I’m really enjoying the staff because they have humble people who work hard. So up to now, everything has been OK."
The tactician will have more relationships to build once the team returns to Europe and is joined by some of its brightest stars, but Ancelotti is doing his best to make clear that every person, every moving part, will be important during the slog the season can become. Ancelotti said he's looking forward to seeing his former team-mate and current Inter coach Roberto Mancini on Saturday, but again hinted that the result of the contest would come second to the concepts he's looking to instill in his team.
Ancelotti hopes the personal touch with his players and staff at Bayern will get everyone pulling in the same direction, the direction that leads to more titles for Bayern's trophy case. Even though it's a scenario he's lived out before, it's one he'd be more than happy to go through again.
The former England boss believes Manchester United are in a strong position to land their maiden league title since 2012/13 with the star duo working together once again
Sven-Goran Eriksson fancies Manchester United's chances of winning the Premier League this season with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Jose Mourinho working together again.
Ibrahimovic - 35 in October - swapped French champions Paris Saint-Germain for United at the start of July, reuniting with his former Inter boss Mourinho.
Fans will get their first glimpse of Ibrahimovic when United face Turkish giants Galatasaray in Saturday's pre-season fixture in the star striker's native Sweden.
And former England and Manchester City boss Eriksson hopes his compatriot can add a Premier League winners' medal to his La Liga, Serie A and Ligue 1 title wins.
"I'm not surprised he went to United," Eriksson told Omnisport when asked about Ibrahimovic's decision to move to England at the age of 34.
"Mourinho has the reputation, similar to Zlatan, that when they go to a new club they normally win in the championship in the first year.
"So why not? Mourinho and Zlatan it could be enough to win the Premier League.
"It would be great for both of them, especially for Zlatan. That would be something incredible, if he could also add that to his other titles."
After facing Galatasaray abroad, United face Everton in Wayne Rooney's testimonial on August 3, before taking on Premier League champions Leicester City in the Community Shield four days later.
Ibrahimovic and Co. kick off their Premier League campaign against Bournemouth on August 13.

The Italy international says he wants to stay at Parc des Princes until he wins the Champions League but admits it is nice to hear of interest from Zinedine Zidane's side
Marco Verratti says he has no intention of leaving Paris Saint-Germain until he helps the club win the Champions League, despite rumours Real Madrid are interested in his services.
It is thought the European champions are weighing up a bid for the Italy international, who missed Euro 2016 with a groin injury.
But the diminutive midfielder has unfinished business in the French capital as new boss Unai Emery seeks to translate the club's dominance of Ligue 1 into Champions League success.
Asked if he would be at PSG this season, Verratti told Le Parisien : "Yes. The club and I discussed many times. We both have the same goal of winning here.
"It's been four years that I have been in Paris. I begin my fifth year. Until we have won the Champions League, I want to stay here. That's the goal I set myself.
"I want to win with this team, because it's like a family.
"It's nice when a big team like Real Madrid is interested in you, but I decided to win with Paris."
Madrid's reported interest in the 23-year-old comes after they dropped out of the race to sign Paul Pogba from Juventus.
The United States international is desperate to break through at Allianz Arena and get playing time at the club where he's grown up rather than going out on another loan
Two years ago, Julian Green’s success looked like it had no bounds. After getting a UEFA Champions League cameo with Bayern Munich, the then 19-year-old went to the World Cup with the United States.
After soaking up the experience of the group stage, United States manager Jurgen Klinsmann turned to Green with the Americans down against Belgium in the first knockout round match. Green scored to pull a goal back, something he said “was or is one of the best moments of my life so far.”
That future could still come to pass. Green may still have the best years ahead of him. But there’s been a fair dose of reality injected into the dream of limitless triumphs on the football field.
In 2015, Green had a loan stint with Hamburg that did not go as he had hoped, logging only five appearances with the first team before returning to Bayern Munich II. Bayern is a difficult team to break into for any player, especially a young one yet to find a rhythm with a club’s first team.
Now, the 21-year-old has an opportunity in front of him with Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller both resting up after the Euros. Green has seen plenty of preseason action, including a start Wednesday against Milan.
For the attacker, proving to manager Carlo Ancelotti that he can stick with his squad rather than again go out on loan or transfer to another team is absolutely vital.
“It’s very important,” Green told Goal. “I’ve played here since I was 14 years old, so Bayern has always been my club. I grew up near Munich, so i was a big fan when I was a child. Bayern was always my club, so it’s very important for me to make it here.
“I know it’s hard, but I also know that it’s not impossible.”
The lack of action at club level looks to have contributed to a slide in Green’s national team prospects. Since 2014, the year in which he scored at the World Cup, Green has seen action in only one match with the senior team. That came in May against Puerto Rico that the US used to bridge the gap between the end of the European and Mexican seasons and the beginning of the Copa America Centenario.
While Green says he occasionally is in touch with Klinsmann and US assistant and U-23 coach Andi Herzog, he has a clear idea of what he needs to do to return to playing for the Stars and Stripes.
“The most important thing is to play. Right now I don’t think about that, I think about now, about Bayern,” Green said. “If I do my thing here, I’m sure I can be back soon with the national team, and that’s my goal also.”
A player getting minutes at Bayern would be tough for Klinsmann and Co. to ignore. Green had already vaulted into the mainstream American conscious when Klinsmann selected him to go to the 2014 World Cup, and first-team minutes would only raise his profile even more. While Green won't supplant players like Lewandowski and Muller, the early indications are that Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti is happy with what he's seen from the attacker.
“I think he’s doing really good this season,” Ancelotti said before the Milan contest. “He played the game that we played, did well, scored a goal in the first match, worked really hard in all the games and we are going to see what happens with him. He’s with us, and he has to continue to work hard to improve and I think that he will be important for us in the season.”
For now, Green is trying to soak up the lessons the new Bayern boss is hoping to impart. Ancelotti’s list of players he’s helped spring to success is not a short one.
“I think I can learn very much. He has a lot of experience,” Green said. “He worked with top players, top teams, so I can learn every day from him. He’s a really good coach, he’s a really nice guy as a person. He’s a perfect coach to me.”
With the perfect coach at his dream club, Green will hope he can continue to make a good impression during the preseason. Bayern meets Inter on Saturday before closing out their US tour with a contest against Real Madrid.

The big Swede could pull on a United shirt for the first time on Saturday after being included in Jose Mourinho's 23-man selection for the friendly against the Turkish side.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to make his Manchester United debut on Saturday after being named in a 23-man squad for the friendly with Galatasaray in Gothenburg.
The giant Swede moved to Old Trafford on a free transfer in early July, signing a one-year deal with an option for an extra year after leaving Paris Saint-Germain

And after taking an extended summer break following international duty with Sweden at Euro 2016, Ibrahimovic joined training for the first time on Thursday at United's Carrington training complex.
Having impressed new boss Jose Mourinho in practice, Ibrahimovic has been selected among 23 names to make the trip to his homeland for Saturday evening's fixture.
Among those not included in the traveling squad are nine players who have allegedly been told they have no future at the club under Mourinho.
Tim Fosu-Mensah, Paddy McNair, Tyler Blackett, Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Andreas Pereira, Adnan Januzaj, Will Keane and James Wilson have all been encouraged to look for roles elsewhere by the Portuguese, and none of them have been included in the trip.
Chris Smalling continues his rehabilitation from injury, meaning he misses the 2:30 p.m. ET kick off at IFK Gothenburg's Ullievi Stadium.
The German coach has confirmed his new signing will miss up to 10 weeks after breaking a bone in his hand but has full confidence in the Belgium international
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been impressed by Simon Mignolet as the goalkeeper looks certain to start the season as his No.1 following Loris Karius' injury.
Karius broke his hand during his side's 1-0 loss to Chelsea at the International Champions Cup on Wednesday and is set to miss up to 10 weeks.
Klopp acknowledged the poor timing of the injury – just a couple of weeks from their Premier League opener against Arsenal – but has faith in Mignolet.
"Timing is never perfect with injuries – not for him, not for us," he told a news conference on Friday.
"But it's not that I decided about who is number one or something else. It was collecting information about the players so we had a few about him, we had a few about Mignolet.
"It was only a battle between these two players obviously so now this battle is decided for the next few weeks, 100 per cent.
"It's only about who can help us most in which situation, which game, so I'm really happy of course that we have Simon and hopefully he can stay in the race and not get injured."
Klopp was saddened for Karius, who had been solid through pre-season after joining the club from Mainz in May.
He has no date for the 23-year-old shot-stopper's return, but predicted an absence of between six and 10 weeks.
"It's not cool for the boy, it's not cool for us, but we can't change it, we have to take it," Klopp said.
"We have another three goalkeepers and everybody knows about the quality of Simon Mignolet so all good. He made a really good impression in the first few days since he's back in training.
"We have the very experienced Alex Manninger and we have the very young Shamal George so that's now the situation.
"It could have been worse so everybody knows a broken bone in the hand for a goalkeeper is not the best thing to have so it could have been worse.
"Six, eight, 10 weeks whatever it will take at the end, it's not the longest period but not too good of course."

Speculation surrounding the France's international impending move to Old Trafford is reaching fever pitch and the midfielder's latest move is bound to exite fans even further
Not content with teasing Manchester United fans with his social media updates, Paul Pogba has dropped yet another hint he is closing in on a move to Old Trafford by signing a fan's No.6 shirt.
The Juventus midfielder is currently on holiday in the United States after his Euro 2016 exploits with France where he stopped to autograph a supporter's shirt and pose for a photo.

Goal understands Manchester United are set to seal a €110 million deal for the midfielder after Real Madrid dropped out of the race to sign him.
Atletico Madrid have announced the signing of Sevilla striker Kevin Gameiro, with the Frenchman having agreed a four-year deal with the Rojiblancos.
Gameiro is due to travel to Madrid this evening to complete the deal, which is subject to him successfully passing a medical, for a reported fee of €41m.

The 29-year-old has been a key figure for Sevilla, since signing from Paris Saint-Germain in 2013, helping the team to three Europa League wins and scoring 67 goals in three seasons.

Pep Guardiola wants the England defender at the Etihad Stadium in time for the new season but the club have told the Toffees that they are unwilling to raise their initial offer
Manchester City are ready to get tough with Everton in their pursuit of John Stones.
Pep Guardiola identified Stones as a priority target months ago, and the 22-year-old’s desire to play for the Catalan coach at the Etihad Stadium has forced other potential suitors to back away from negotiations.

It had been expected that City would pay Everton’s £50 million asking price in a bid to incorporate Stones into their squad as soon as possible ahead of the new Premier League season.
But senior City sources are now insistent that they will not budge on their valuation of the England defender, which is in the region of £40m.

It is understood Everton are aware of that stance and, as far as City are concerned, the ball is now in the Merseysiders’ court.
Director of football Txiki Begiristain had been with the club in China for their curtailed International Champions Cup campaign.

He has also been brokering deals for Schalke’s Leroy Sane and Palmeiras’ Gabriel Jesus, and there is a confidence within the club that those deals will soon be completed.
City have been haggling over Sane’s price with their Bundesliga counterparts but all parties are keen to reach an agreement and the two respective valuations are not wildly different.

The Stones saga, however, could now run on past the start of the Premier League campaign.

City were similarly insistent one year ago that they would not meet Liverpool’s demands for Raheem Sterling, nor Wolfsburg’s for Kevin De Bruyne.

The club eventually signed Sterling for £45m rising to a potential £49m depending on a number of factors, while De Bruyne was signed for £54m but only after the 2015-16 season had started.

Everton stood firm in the face of several big-money bids, which neared £40m, for Stones from Chelsea last summer.

City, though, are likely to pursue a deal through to completion given their travails in landing Guardiola’s top defensive targets so far this summer.

The Blues want two central defenders and had initially identified Athletic defender Aymeric Laporte alongside Stones.

Despite negotiations taking place between the clubs and reports that personal terms had been agreed, Laporte eventually elected to sign a new deal at San Mames.

That has forced City to look elsewhere, and with little success so far.

Guardiola is a long-term admirer of Leonardo Bonucci, but Juventus are also demanding around £50m for a player seven years older than both Laporte and Stones.

Claudio Ranieri has few doubts about Riyad Mahrez's future as contract talks continue between Leicester City and their star man ahead of the new Premier League season.
The reigning champions are desperate to hold onto the mercurial winger, who scored 17 Premier League goals and laid on another 11 for his team-mates last season, despite reported interest from Arsenal.
But Ranieri says he has seen nothing in his day-to-day interactions with the Algeria international to suggest that he is seeking an exit from the King Power Stadium.
If he wants to sign a new contract it is OK. For me it is important that this season he stays with us," he said.
"He is very happy. I see him every day and he has never talked to me about something strange. I am confident with him. This is experience.
"The club is working very well and I think the players want to stay with us to try and to improve on last season. We know that is very difficult but we are ambitious. Then it is important they sign, stay with us and gain experience in the Champions League. Then we will see."
Of less interest to Leicester are the services of full-back Ritchie De Laet and former Switzerland captain Gokhan Inler, who struggled to break into the team after signing from Napoli last season.

"It's better for them if they find a new solution. It's difficult for them to play as I already have two players for each position. When I was a footballer I wanted to play and compete," Ranieri said.

The pair worked together at Borussia Dortmund but the German says he did not try to bring him to Anfield as he knew quite early on he was heading to Old Trafford instead
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed he had no interest in signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan before the attacker  Manchester United.
Mkhitaryan and Klopp were together at Borussia Dortmund, but they will be opponents in the Premier League this season after the former joined United.
The 59-time Armenia international starred in the Bundesliga after being bought by Klopp from Shakhtar Donetsk.
However, the German had no desire to reunite with Mkhitaryan at Anfield as the 27-year-old instead completed a £26 million move to United.
"I had that player. If you have had players, you know more about them. You want to learn about other players. That's how it is," Klopp told the Liverpool Echo.
"I knew quite early that he was going this way [to United]. There was absolutely no reason for me to jump in there. That isn't how we work.
"We didn't look for players we had already worked with. If you do that, you know their good, their bad and you wonder whether you will do it again.
"It's not boring but you know everything about each other so how can you develop? Where is the next step? Where is the next push for development?
"We could have gone for a lot of players. But, first of all, you have to think, 'what do I need?'"

Klopp has instead brought in numerous others, including Sadio Mane, Georginio Wijnaldum, Joel Matip and Loris Karius.
The Euro 2016 winner is unlikely to feature in his club's league opener against Real Sociedad, according to his coach, as he continues his recovery after injury
Zinedine Zidane does not expect Cristiano Ronaldo to be fit for Real Madrid's first game of the season next month.
The Portuguese superstar captained his country to an unlikely Euro 2016 success earlier in July but suffered a knee injury in the final after a heavy tackle from France's Dimitri Payet.
The forward has taken plenty of pre-season snaps in the gym as he enjoys his extended holiday, but is yet to join Real Madrid training ahead of the new season.
Now, Zidane has ruled Ronaldo out of the UEFA Super Cup clash against Europa League winners Sevilla as well as casting doubt over his availability for the first league game of the season against Real Sociedad on August 21.
"Cristiano is out for the Super Cup. For the first game of the season, we'll see," the Real Madrid coach said.
"His injury needs one month and then he has to prepare, because he will not be at his best after a month without doing anything.
"Between the Super Cup and the league opener will be 10 days. We'll see. He'll be with us, but I don't think he will play the first match [of the league season]."
Zidane is less concerned about Karim Benzema ahead of the Super Cup, but said the striker would not play in Madrid's International Champions Cup match against Chelsea on Saturday.
